Authorities at St. Maria Goretti Nursery and Preparatory School – Rushoroza in the Southern Division of Kabale Municipality, are seeking over Shs 800 million to complete the construction of a storied multipurpose hall.
According to Sr. Martina Lobur, the head teacher, the multipurpose hall is essential to accommodate the growing number of pupils and to provide a more conducive learning environment.
To support the project, the school has organized a fundraising drive scheduled for 5th July 2025. The event will be graced by Maurice Mugisha, Deputy Managing Director of Uganda Broadcasting Corporation (UBC), as the chief guest. The main celebrant will be the Rt. Rev. Callist Rubaramira, Bishop of Kabale Diocese.
Sr. Lobur revealed that the school has so far completed the ground floor of the building. However, significant funding is still needed to complete the remaining two floors.
She appealed to the public and well-wishers to support the school’s fundraising efforts. The school currently has an enrollment of 740 pupils.
