KABALE – Authorities at Maziba Primary School in Maziba Sub-County, Kabale District, are uncertain about the school’s opening for the upcoming term due to a shortage of classrooms.

The school’s infrastructure, comprising seven classroom blocks, the head teacher’s office, staffroom, and store, was devastated by landslides in May 2020. Despite this, there have been efforts to rebuild.

In response to the catastrophe, the government allocated 500 million Shillings for the initial phase of constructing a new classroom block. However, during a recent visit to the school, Kabale District Chief Administrative Officer, Fred Karyesubura, announced that the district had received an additional 432 million from the government to further develop the school’s facilities.
