KAMPALA – In a pivotal moment for the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), the National Executive Committee (NEC) elections took place on October 6th at the Patidar Samaj Sports Ground in Lugogo, Kampala.
The Party President and the new NEC were elected to spearhead the party’s direction over the next five years until 2028.
The Electoral Commission extends gratitude to all members who participated in the voting process and exercised their right to elect their leaders.

National Youth League:
Marking the party’s dedication to inclusivity, elections for the National Youth League Executive are set for October 19, 2023.
Positions ranging from Chairperson to various Secretaries will be contested, involving voters such as District Youth Chairpersons, District Youth Vice Chairpersons, Institutional Chairpersons, and current Youth Executive leaders. All candidates must be under 30 years of age.
National Women League:
Simultaneously, on October 19, 2023, the National Women League Executive elections will take place.
This event involves voters such as District Women Chairpersons, District Women Secretaries, and current Women Executive leaders.
To ensure eligibility, participants in both elections must carry their National Identity Cards.Nomination day for Youth League Chairperson and Women League Chairperson candidates is set for October 18, 2023.
Noteworthy candidates have already been nominated, setting the stage for a competitive and spirited electoral process.
For the PWDs (Persons with Disabilities), their elections are scheduled for October 25, 2023. District PWDs Chairpersons and Vice Chairpersons will convene to elect their Secretaries.
LC 1 Elections:
Amid preparations, FDC members are urged to proactively identify candidates for LC1 and 2 elections.
Despite a roadmap circulating on social media, the National Electoral Commission is yet to formalize communication. The FDC emphasizes internal preparations, hoping for minimal interference from external entities.
