State of Sanitation Worries traders at Lake Bunyonyi

KABALE- The poor state of sanitation of Harutinda market at lake Bunyonyi at Harutinda trading center, Mwendo parish, Kitumba Sub County Kabale District is worrying traders.

Christopher Mwesigwa, a vendor in the market he said that they have been lamenting to the market tenderer to clean the market for a long time but all in vain yet they pay taxes but they failed to use the taxes collected appropriately in cleaning the market.

He said that garbage’s are carried by the rain into the lake.

According to the chairman of the market Dan Namara, he did not agree with the vendors and said that they are using the market for a meantime waiting for the new market that the government is going to construct.

Namara added that currently the market is operated alongside the road and very soon the road constructors want to resume construction.

During the phone interview with a reporter and lc3chairperson Kitumba Sub County David Muhereza said the vendors should clean the positions of operation like the way they clean their homes.

Muhereza further said that later before they had collided with market vendors for not maintaining the health of the environment concerning the cleanliness and keeping the lake safe not being a garbage stock.
