The Bishop of Kabale Diocese, Rt Rev Callist Rubaramira, has officially blessed, consecrated and opened the newly constructed state-of-the-art Christ the King Parish Church in Rukungiri District, a milestone achieved through the commitment and generosity of parishioners.
During the colorful celebration held on Saturday, Bishop Rubaramira consecrated the church to God by sprinkling holy water throughout the building and anointing the altar with Chrism oil before declaring it officially open for worship.
He commended the faithful for their sacrifice and dedication in building a worthy house of God. Christ the King Parish, which was established in 2006, marked 20 years of its existence with the inauguration of the new church.
In his homily, Bishop Rubaramira urged Christians to remain firmly rooted in Jesus Christ, saying a strong relationship with Him is the foundation of a fruitful and meaningful Christian life.
Drawing from the Gospel’s teaching that Christ is the vine and believers are the branches, he reminded the faithful that true spiritual growth is only possible by remaining connected to Christ.
He encouraged Christians to dedicate time to daily prayer, meditation on Scripture and seeking God’s will in every aspect of their lives, noting that those who abide in Christ bear fruits of love, faith and service.
