National Unity Platform (NUP) president and presidential candidate, Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu, popularly known as Bobi Wine, has rallied Ugandans to embrace unity as a key pillar in the quest for democratic change and national progress.
Addressing hundreds of enthusiastic supporters at Nyakasanga Playground in Kasese Municipality on Friday, Kyagulanyi reiterated his commitment to fighting corruption, promoting inclusive development, improving infrastructure, and ending tribalism should he assume leadership on January 15, 2026.
Accompanied by his wife, Barbie Kyagulanyi, the NUP leader reflected on Kasese District’s rich mineral potential, noting that despite being endowed with vast natural resources, the area continues to grapple with unemployment and economic hardship. He pledged to champion policies that ensure local communities benefit meaningfully from their natural wealth.
Kyagulanyi also praised the resilience of the people of Kasese and pledged to prioritize solutions to longstanding challenges affecting the district, including recurrent flooding of River Nyamwamba and the plight of internally displaced persons (IDPs).
NUP leaders from the district, including Busongora North parliamentary flag bearer Hon. Joneni Bwambale Bamwenda, Bukonzo East MP aspirant Hon. Cleus Bwambale, and Kasese District Woman MP flag bearer Hon. Fatuma Kamama Kathembo, assured Kyagulanyi of strong grassroots support across Kasese District.
The leaders emphasized their commitment to working together to address local challenges and deliver people-centered leadership aimed at improving livelihoods and fostering sustainable development in the region.
