The Ntungamo Deputy Resident District Commissioner (DRDC) Rosemary Atuhiare has urged NRM leaders and supporters in Ntungamo to unite behind President Yoweri Museveni and the party’s flag bearers ahead of the general elections.
Speaking at a recent meeting, Atuhiare emphasized the importance of party unity, noting that NRM continues to gain momentum under President Museveni’s leadership.
She called on leaders to focus on mobilizing votes for the party and its candidates.
Atuhiare highlighted development progress in Rushenyi, including improvements in infrastructure, health services, and economic growth.
She urged residents to give President Museveni their full support, noting that Ntungamo has benefited from the care and leadership of both the President and First Lady Janet Museveni.
She stressed the need for NRM members to work together to safeguard Uganda’s peace and continue advancing national development.
Honorable Naome Kabasharira, an NRM flag bearer, commended the RDC for mobilizing support and praised party members for their dedication. She underscored the government’s achievements in infrastructure and economic growth and encouraged residents to protect the gains made by the NRM.
Seith Rukurungu, from the office of the First Lady, highlighted key achievements of the NRM government, including peace, economic growth, wealth creation, job opportunities, and service delivery. He urged young voters to resist being influenced by money or incentives, and instead support the party.
Ntungamo District Local Council Chairperson Samuel Mucunguzi Rwakigoba Salongo pledged his support for Honorable Kabasharira and President Museveni, while other leaders, including Assistant RDC Christopher Bariyo and Rwahi Rwentobo Town Council NRM Chair Fred Muhinda, emphasized unity and backing the party’s candidates.
Leaders also reminded residents to focus on the NRM manifesto, which prioritizes job creation, service delivery, and economic development, rather than being swayed by short-term incentives during the elections.
