The Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development has launched its 2026 Health, Gender and Environment Awareness Week, reaffirming its commitment to promoting employee wellness as a foundation for improved public service delivery.

The week-long initiative, running from July 6 to 10 under the theme “Healthy Workforce for Effective Service Delivery,” is providing ministry staff with access to a wide range of health services and wellness education at the ministry premises.

Employees are benefiting from free blood donation drives, cancer screening, HIV counselling and testing, blood pressure and diabetes check-ups, dental and eye examinations, as well as health education and wellness counselling. The services are aimed at encouraging early detection and prevention of diseases while promoting healthy lifestyles among public servants.

Addressing the ministry’s top technical team, Dr. Rosemary Byanyima, Executive Director of Mulago National Referral Hospital, urged public officers to take advantage of the specialized medical services available at the national referral hospital.
