The Archbishop of Mbarara Archdiocese, His Grace Lambert Bainomugisha, has urged Christians in Kabale Diocese to remain steadfast in their faith and to recognize the presence of Jesus Christ even in moments of hardship and confusion.

Delivering his homily at Our Lady of Good Shepherd Rushoroza Cathedral Parish during the conclusion of a five-day pastoral visit organized under the Mbarara Ecclesiastical Province Association (MEPA), Archbishop Bainomugisha reflected on the journey of the disciples after the resurrection.

He noted that, like them, many believers today experience sadness and uncertainty.

He emphasized, however, that Jesus never abandons His people but walks with them through every challenge, even when they do not immediately recognize His presence.

The Archbishop encouraged Christians to deepen their understanding of Scripture, explaining that God’s plans are often misunderstood when viewed through human expectations.

Drawing from Luke 24:13–35, he highlighted that the suffering, death, and resurrection of Christ were part of a divine plan foretold long before they occurred.

He further underscored the importance of fellowship and spiritual reflection, pointing to the moment when Jesus was revealed to the disciples in the breaking of bread.

He urged families to welcome Christ into their homes and daily lives, noting that such encounters strengthen faith and bring clarity in difficult times.

Archbishop Bainomugisha also reminded the faithful that true belief goes beyond physical sight, calling on Christians to trust in God’s word and remain committed even when circumstances seem unclear.

He encouraged believers to share the joy of their faith with others, noting that just as the disciples hurried to spread the Good News after recognizing Jesus, Christians today should boldly witness their faith, inspired by the inner transformation that comes from encountering Christ.
