NEWS – Rubanda East County legislator Hon. Henry Musasizi Ariganyira has chosen a delegation of around 20 individuals from various sectors to attend a State House meeting with President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to apologize for channeling iron sheets that were meant for vulnerable people in Karamoja.
This is in connection to offering an apology for his involvement in the recent Iron sheets scandal. Reports confirm that he took 200 pieces of iron sheets branded “Office of the Prime Minister,” originally purchased for Karamoja relief.
Minister Musasizi, appointed as the State Minister of Finance, Planning, and Economic Development in charge of General Duties on June 8, 2021, is known for allegedly sabotaging government programs meant to benefit the people of Kigezi.
On March 10, 2023, Banyakigezi criticized Minister Musasizi for opposing the creation of ‘Kabale City.’ In 2019, Kabale Municipality was slated for elevation to city status in 2023.
The backlash led to the formation of the “Kabale City Claim Forum,” a group advocating for their city’s recognition.
Minister Musasizi, on February 12, 2023, announced that Kabale’s city status was halted per an agreement with President Museveni.
However, the Ministry of Local Government denied any official communication about a change in the resolution of Parliament approving city creation.
Residents accuse Minister Musasizi of being discriminatory, especially in representing his constituents.
He previously tweeted about working solely for Catholics, who voted for him, and claimed ownership of government programs.
According to an insider in Minister Misasizi’s Camp who preferred anonymous, Tomorrow, October 12, 2023, Minister Musasizi, also the NRM Chairman for Rubanda District, is expected to lead a delegation including Cryil Mugyengyi, a businessman in Rubanda District and Peter Niwagaba,a Prominent Businessman in Kabale Town to State House to apologize to President Museveni.
