Kabale district local government has received 667 bicycles from government of Uganda through the Ministry of local government in the bid to help to effectively monitor government programs and do service delivery in the district.
Alex Byakatonda, the district communication officer, says the bicycles were received by the district authorities over the weekend.
Byakatonda told our reporter that the bicycles will be distributed to LC1 and 11 chairpersons in the entire district to help them in monitoring government programs singling out the Parish Development Model aimed at getting Ugandans out of poverty.
He however, said that bicycles will be distributed to beneficiaries at a yet to be communicated date.

In June this year, the Government of Uganda through the Ministry of local government also gave out 103 Yamaha motorcycles to the entire Sub County chairpersons in Kigezi sub region in the bid for them to effectively monitor government programs and do service delivery in the region.
The motorcycles were to be utilized in monitoring government programs that include the Parish Development Model and Emyooga all aimed at getting Ugandans out of poverty.
