KABALE – Kabale District Local Government in South Western Uganda is gearing up to host the prestigious National Youth Day celebrations.
This exciting event has been officially confirmed by the District Communications Officer, Alex Byakatonda. The much-anticipated celebrations are scheduled to take place on the 12th August 2023 at Kigezi High School Lower Playground in Kabale Municipality.
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni will grace the occasion as the esteemed chief guest.
This year’s celebration carries a profound theme, “Accelerating Recovery from Covid-19 and Full Implementation of the 2030 Agenda: The Role of the Youths.” It reflects the importance of youth involvement in overcoming the challenges posed by the pandemic and driving progress towards the 2030 development goals.
In an exclusive interview with our reporter, Byakatonda revealed that tomorrow, the district will hold a crucial meeting in collaboration with Municipality authorities. The meeting will involve key representatives from the Ministry of Gender, Labour, and Social Development, as well as the Ministry of Security to kickstart preparations and ensure that the National Youth Day celebrations are a resounding success and a memorable, vibrant occasion.
