A Senior Five student at Kigata High School has been found dead in a suspected suicide by hanging in Buhara Sub-county, Kabale District.

The deceased has been identified as Katusiime Babra, 20, a resident of Ahamurangara Village, Bugarama Parish.

According to police, the incident occurred on Thursday at about 6pm when Katusiime’s mother returned home from cultivation and found her daughter hanging from a rope inside the sitting room.

Police said that earlier that morning, at about 7am, Katusiime had told her mother that she would not be going to school because she had no examination to sit for that day.

Her mother then left her at home and went to cultivate, only to return later and find her dead.

He further appealed to members of the public to refrain from taking and sharing pictures or videos of the deceased or the scene on social media, saying such actions are disrespectful to the deceased and can further distress the bereaved family.
