Police in the Kigezi sub-region have assured residents of heightened security ahead of the highly anticipated local government council elections scheduled for tomorrow, Thursday.
In a press statement released on Wednesday, Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson Elly Maate said joint security forces are fully prepared to ensure peace and order throughout the electoral process.
Maate emphasized that security personnel will be deployed at all polling stations, with additional visible patrols across the region to deter any potential disruptions and facilitate a smooth voting exercise.
“We urge the public to cooperate with security forces and strictly adhere to electoral laws,” Maate said. “This cooperation is essential for a peaceful and successful election.”
He further advised voters to follow instructions from security personnel and report any suspicious activities or incidents to the authorities or electoral officials immediately.
