The National Resistance Movement (NRM) registrar for Kisoro District, Tadeo Mujambere, has officially declared Kisoro-based journalist and aspiring politician Denis Nsenga as the unopposed NRM flag bearer for Nkuringo Town Council ahead of the 2026 general elections.

The declaration follows the withdrawal of Festus Bahinyuza, who had initially expressed interest in contesting for the same seat. In a withdrawal letter dated July 22, 2025 and submitted to the NRM District Electoral Commission, Bahinyuza stated that his decision was made voluntarily and based on personal considerations.

He emphasized that no external pressure or coercion influenced his choice.

Registrar Mujambere confirmed receipt of Bahinyuza’s letter and noted that, with no other contender in the race, Denis Nsenga has been officially declared the NRM candidate for Nkuringo Town Council.
