KABALE: The Minister of Finance (General Duties) Henry Musasizi has called on civil servants to take personal responsibility for their financial well-being instead of depending solely on government pensions.

Speaking at the burial of Margaret Gangwenyima, mother of Northern Division LCIII Chairman of Kabale Municipality Mucunguzi Isaac Rushoga, held at St. Phillips Estates Bugongi Church of Uganda Parish on Friday, Minister Musasizi urged public servants to embrace financial discipline and long-term planning.

Minister Musasizi stated that many civil servants dismiss pensions as inadequate but the real problem is not the pension size saying that it is poor money management during active service. He rallied them to start saving, invest early, and secure their future.

He emphasized that young workers should build financial resilience by saving and investing while still productive, noting that retirement should not catch them unprepared.
