The National Resistance Movement (NRM) has intensified its campaigns to reclaim the Kikuube District LC5 chairperson seat, with party leaders stepping up grassroots mobilization efforts ahead of the polls.

A team from the NRM Secretariat, accompanied by district leadership, on Monday joined the party’s flag bearer, Paddy Kisembo, in mobilizing voters and local leaders across Bugambe Sub-county, Kizirampanga, and Buhimba Town Councils.

The campaign team urged party supporters to strengthen grassroots mobilization and maximize the remaining campaign period by reaching as many voters as possible.

Speaking during the mobilization drive, Hon. Jane Alisemera, Commissioner of the NRM Electoral Commission, said the government is ready to work with Kisembo to transform the lives of people in Kikuube District if elected.

“Kisembo has a wealth of experience in agriculture, education, and transport. He is prepared to work closely with government and engage development partners to ensure improved service delivery,” Alisemera said.

She also cautioned party leaders and supporters to remain vigilant while mobilizing communities, citing concerns over an Ebola case that has reportedly been registered in Kikuube District.

“Kikuube has already registered an Ebola case, and the contacts are in isolation. I urge you to avoid unnecessary body contact, wash your hands regularly, sanitize, and report any related symptoms to health authorities to help contain the spread,” she advised.

Paddy Kisembo pledged to ensure accountability and proper oversight in the implementation of government projects if elected LC5 Chairperson.

“Projects such as road construction, health centres, and schools require proper scrutiny because they are funded using public resources,” Kisembo said.

He further promised to fast-track access to government wealth creation initiatives, including the Parish Development Model (PDM) and Emyooga funds, to improve household incomes in the district.

The NRM Senior Manager for Mobilisation, Sam Eyenga, rallied party supporters to remain united behind the NRM flag bearer, expressing confidence in the party’s chances of victory.

“I am confident we shall win because Kikuube is strongly NRM. In the previous elections, President Museveni secured 97 percent support, and NRM candidates performed strongly in other positions,” Eyenga said.

He urged voters to maintain support for NRM leadership at all levels, from the presidency and parliamentary seats to district and local council leadership, saying this would strengthen service delivery and implementation of government commitments.
