Police in Kampala Metropolitan North have arrested three suspects linked to an aggravated robbery in Wakiso District and recovered an AK-47 rifle, ammunition, magazines and army-like uniforms believed to have been used during the crime.
The suspects were arrested following a robbery incident on July 14, 2026, when a group of armed men dressed in army-like uniforms attacked patrons at a bar in Kiti A Village, Nangabo Sub-county.
The assailants reportedly robbed two identified victims and several other patrons of mobile phones and an unspecified amount of money. One victim was shot in the right thigh before the suspects fled the scene.
Police launched investigations that led to the arrest of Mutyaba Micheal in Mukono District on July 16.
According to police, information obtained during interrogation enabled detectives to arrest his alleged accomplices, Kisitu Godfrey, alias Kongoman, from Kibuye in Makindye Division, and Bazalanga Paul from Wandago, Magamaga in Jinja District, on July 22.
Police also recovered two pairs of army-like uniforms believed to have been used during the robbery.
During the operation, another suspect reportedly escaped, abandoning an AK-47 rifle, two magazines and ammunition, which were recovered by police.
The three suspects remain in police custody as investigations continue, while efforts to trace and arrest the fugitive suspect are ongoing.
