News coming indicate that Rev Fr Francis Xavier Lubanga, the vice rector of St Paul’s Kinyamasika National Major Seminary on Thursday this week died in a road accident along Masaka road in Kampala

The unexpectedly sad news of the death of Rev Fr Francis Xavier Lubanga has been announced by Kampala Archdiocese via its twitter handle.

“We, with deep sadness inform you of the death of our colleague and friend Fr. Francis Lubanga. The Late Fr. Francis unexpectedly succumbed to a car accident along Masaka road on Thursday, 29.12.2022 night. He was the Vice Rector of St. Paul’s National Major Seminary Kinyamasika” Kampala Archdiocese announces on its Twitter handle.

On a fateful Friday morning, lives of Six people were also lost in a fatal accident at Satellite Hotel 2kms from Muhanga trading center along Rukiga – Mbarara highway in Ntungamo district.

The accident involved a head-on collision of two buses where 6 people died on spot and 30 other victims were seriously injured.

Asp Elly Maate, the Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate says the accident involved two buses one with Rwanda registration number 798B of Volcano RAD CO and another one of Kenyan bus company one Oxygen registration number KCU 054L and the drivers of the two buses are among the dead.

According to Faridah Nampiima , the spokesperson traffic police department, over 50 people have so far perished in road crashes across the country during Christmas season.

Nampiima adds that over 200 people were also seriously injured.

 

She added that over 3,500 traffic offenders were arrested during the same period
