KABALE: Kigezi Team chairman MK Movement distributes over 500 reflector jackets to Boda Boda riders in Kabale municipality as part of the Preparations for ahead of Katuna/ Gatuna border reopening thanksgiving as it scales up a campaign to encourage safer road use.
The ceremony was presided over by Nelson Nshangabasheija the Kabale LC5 Boss as well the head of mobilization of Team Chairman MK Movement in kigezi Sub region as he urged Boda Boda riders to uphold and observe proper traffic rules and safety measures.
Nshangabasheija says observing proper safety and traffic measures by the sector players are very instrumental in reducing accidents. She said most road accidents in kabale are attributed to the Boda Boda riders.
“He says that according to police reports most accidents Boda Bodas are involved. We believe these reflector jackets will be essential in reducing accidents that happen every day,” said Nshangabasheija .
Recently, the General announced his plan to Visit Kigezi and officiate at the event prepared to celebrate re-opening of the Uganda-Rwanda border at Katuna, which was blocked by the Kigali Government for close to three years beginning 2019.
Gen. Kainerugaba’s announcement on twitter followed a series of requests by his supporters in Kigezi to be the Chief Guest at the function that is to be held on 19th April 2023
However, in one of his recent tweets, Gen. Kainerugaba announced that President Yoweri Museveni and his Rwandan Counterpart Paul Kagame had given blessings to the Katuna Border re-opening party, adding that the theme of the celebration would be “Rukundo Egumeho,” A Rukiga phrase translated as, “Keep the Love”
