Alexander Kyokwijuka was on Wednesday duly nominated by the Electoral Commission to contest for the Ndorwa East County Member of Parliament seat as an independent candidate.
Kyokwijuka was nominated at exactly 9:42 a.m. at the Electoral Commission offices in Kabale District by the Returning Officer, Ms. Aisha Nansubuga.
The occasion was marked by optimism and unity as Kyokwijuka arrived at the nomination center accompanied by his wife, family members, and members of his task force, who expressed confidence in his ability to deliver a new brand of people-centered leadership.
Dressed in his signature yellow tie and wearing a calm smile, Kyokwijuka exuded humility and determination as he interacted with journalists and supporters who had gathered to witness the moment.
Speaking shortly after his nomination, Kyokwijuka reaffirmed his commitment to restoring confidence in leadership through a consultative and inclusive approach to representation.
“I come to the people of Ndorwa East not as a boss, but as a servant,” he said. “I will ensure that every decision I take in Parliament reflects the voice and aspirations of my people. My pledge is to consult widely and ensure that the national budget is appropriated in a way that responds to the real needs of our communities.”
He further emphasized his intention to work closely with government agencies, civil society, and local leaders to attract, supervise, and monitor government programs for effective implementation.
“Our people deserve better services in health, education, agriculture, and infrastructure — and that will be my daily pursuit,” he added.
Kyokwijuka, a respected community leader, educator, and youth advocate, said his campaign is anchored on empowerment, integrity, and development.
He pledged to champion youth and women’s empowerment, noting that these groups are vital to the social and economic transformation of Ndorwa East.
“As a young leader who understands the struggles of growing up with limited opportunities, I am committed to ensuring that no young person in Ndorwa East is left behind,” he said. “Together, we shall build a constituency that thrives on unity, innovation, and shared prosperity.”
With his nomination secured, Alexander Kyokwijuka’s message of hope, inclusion, and accountable leadership has officially taken center stage in the Ndorwa East parliamentary race.
