The newly sworn-in Rubaya Sub-county LCIII Chairperson in Ndorwa West Constituency, Kabale District, Noah Mubangizi, has called on residents, including those who did not support him during the elections, to cooperate with his administration to foster social, economic, and political development in Rubaya Sub-county.

Speaking shortly after being sworn in at Rubaya Sub-county headquarters on Wednesday, Mubangizi emphasized the need for unity, saying politics should be set aside to focus on development.

“I want to appreciate everyone who supported me during the election. In every election, there is always a winner and a loser. I therefore appeal to both those who supported me and those who did not to unite for the social, economic, and political development of Rubaya Sub-county. Politics ended sometime back, and now it is time to work together,” Mubangizi said.

On water access, the new chairperson promised to lobby for improved water systems across all villages in Rubaya Sub-county through the NICA Foundation project to ensure residents have access to clean and safe water.

Presiding over the swearing-in ceremony, Kabale District Principal Assistant Secretary Gordon Manzi congratulated Mubangizi and the newly elected council upon assuming office and stressed the importance of cooperation and discipline during council sessions.

Manzi urged the new leadership to support ongoing government and community development programs by working closely with technical staff on initiatives such as the Parish Development Model and Raising the Village, a non-governmental organization focused on fighting poverty in the sub-county.

However, he highlighted key challenges affecting the education sector in Rubaya Sub-county, including the lack of a primary school in Butenga Parish and the absence of a secondary school in the sub-county.

He called on the new leadership to lobby the government to fulfill its promise of establishing the proposed Rubaya Seed Secondary School.
