KABALE – The Bishop of the Diocese of Kigezi, Rt Rev Gaddie Akanjuna, has Implored Christians across the Diocese to refrain from seeking revenge against their enemies, as it goes against the teachings of God
Bishop Akanjuna conveyed this message during a Confirmation Service yesterday where he confirmed 96 Confirmants into Anglican Faith at Kikore Church of Uganda Parish, located within the serene confines of Kamuganguzi Archdeaconry in Kamuganguzi Sub County, Kabale district.
In his enlightening sermon, Bishop Akanjuna highlighted the concept that vengeance is an aspect solely under the purview of God. He urged Christians to adopt a spirit of generosity and compassion, encouraging them to offer aid to those in need.
This virtue, he stressed, is accompanied by divine blessings. He aptly illustrated his point by referencing the narrative of the compassionate friends who presented a blind man before Jesus for healing, as narrated in 8:22.
With fervor, Bishop Akanjuna implored the congregation to emulate the kindness, love, and care exemplified by the Lord Jesus Christ. He advocated for a life steeped in these virtues, urging the faithful to rely wholeheartedly on Him for eternal salvation.
Addressing the Confirmants directly, Bishop Akanjuna entreated them to embrace Jesus Christ as their personal savior. He urged them to fortify their faith in God, even in the face of life’s adversities and challenges. This call to unwavering faith echoed throughout his sermon, resonating deeply with all in attendance.
