RUBANDA: The Bishop of Kabale Diocese, Rt. Rev. Callist Rubaramira, has called upon Christians across the diocese to maintain hope in all aspects of their lives.

While presiding over the Holy Sacrifice of Mass on Thursday during the funeral service of the late Felix Turyamureeba, father of Rev. Fr. Nicodemus Mubangizi, at Rubanda Catholic Parish Church, Bishop Rubaramira emphasized the importance of hope.

Bishop Rubaramira noted that although no one has experienced life after death, a journey from which no one returns, hope remains the driving force that sustains and guides believers through life’s challenges.

Bishop Rubaramira’s message focused entirely on the importance of hope, especially in the context of this being a Jubilee year in the Catholic Church, with the theme “Pilgrims of Hope.”

The funeral was attended by a large congregation, including numerous priests and Christians from across the Kabale Diocese.

In his address, Rubanda District Chairman, Stephen Ampeire Kasyaba, commended Bishop Rubaramira for fostering unity among the priests of the diocese.

He praised the Bishop for building a strong fraternity of clergy who work together as a family for the betterment of humanity.

He encouraged the congregation to lead exemplary lives, highlighting that the large gathering at the funeral was a testament to the late Felix’s own exemplary life.

Rev. Fr. Mubangizi, the eldest of seven siblings, mourned the loss of his father, who passed away at the age of 57.

The late Felix Turyamureeba had been the family’s only surviving biological parent following the death of their mother in 2017.

Turyamureeba, who served diligently as a teacher at St. Adrian’s Seminary in Rubanda and other institutions, was eulogized as a loving, committed, and cooperative man.

He was remembered for his composed service to both the Church and the nation at large.
