Bishop’s Annual Appeal Fund Turns into Political Stage for 2026 Woman Representative Contest in Rukiga

RUKIGA – The Bishop’s Annual Appeal Fund (BAAF), hosted on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Our Lady of Blessed Sacrament Kitanga parish in Kashambya Sub-county, Rukiga district, aimed to support the development of St. Ignatius University Kabale under the Kabale diocese turned into political campaign for the 2026 Rukiga district woman representative in parliament.

Presided over by Kabale Diocesan Bishop Callist Rubaramira, the event saw the attendance of prominent figures, including 12 parliamentarians such as Katusiime Annet Mugisha, Women MP Bushenyi, and Sentai Muhamand, Bukoto West MP.

Notably, the function took an unexpected turn into political discussions for the 2026 Rukiga District Woman Representative seat, with former aspirant Atukunda Victoria Abigail urging support for Sylvia Alinaitwe Mwanake over the incumbent, Caroline Kamusiime Muhwezi.
