The Pastoral Coordinator of Kabale Diocese, Rev. Fr. Fidelis Ndagijimana, has urged Christians to embrace the message of hope, renewal, and unwavering faith in the resurrection of Jesus Christ, reminding them that Easter marks a powerful turning point from fear to joy.

Delivering his homily during the Easter Vigil Mass at Our Lady of Good Shepherd Rushoroza Cathedral Parish in Kabale Municipality on Saturday night, Fr. Ndagijimana said the experience of the women at the empty tomb mirrors the journey of many believers today, moving from uncertainty and fear into “great joy” upon encountering the risen Lord.

The Mass was presided over by the Diocesan Bishop, Rt Rev Callist Rubaramira. Fr. Ndagijimana emphasized that the resurrection of Jesus is not only a historical reality but also a living truth that continues to transform lives.

“The empty tomb confirms that Jesus is alive and that his teachings remain true. It is a sign of victory over death and a reminder that God always fulfills His promises,” he said.

He referenced the angel’s message, “He has risen, just as he said,” noting that it reassures Christians of the reliability of Christ’s word, even in moments of doubt and despair.

Fr. Ndagijimana also highlighted the message of forgiveness and restoration, pointing out that Jesus referred to his disciples as “my brothers” despite their earlier abandonment. He said this demonstrates God’s readiness to forgive and restore those who fall short, calling them back to continue His mission.
