Pastor Robert Kayanja of Miracle Centre Cathedral has hit back at businessman and commentator @FrankGashumba , condemning what he described as a growing “spirit of mocking” religious leaders and other prominent figures in Uganda.
During a fiery sermon on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, Kayanja accused Gashumba of repeatedly attacking influential personalities, including President Yoweri Museveni, the Katikkiro of Buganda and religious leaders.
“There’s a spirit of mocking in Uganda. This man, Frank Gashumba, attacks everyone. He attacks the Katikkiro of Buganda, and before that, he was insulting the President. But ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!” Kayanja declared.
The pastor’s remarks come amid an escalating public dispute following Gashumba’s challenge to pastors who claim to perform miracles.
Gashumba reportedly offered Shs500 million to any pastor or prophet who can instantly heal a critically ill patient in an intensive care unit (ICU) at a major hospital such as Mulago.
His challenge has reignited debate about miracle claims, accountability among religious leaders and the exploitation of believers by individuals who allegedly stage fake healings.
