Over 6 cows, 20 goats and 30 sheep were slaughtered yesterday during the celebration of Eid al Adha, at Kirigime Mosque headquarters in Kabale Municipality.
According to the Kabale District Kadhi, Sheik Kabu Lule these animals were slaughtered as a way of jubilation and meat was shared to the neighboring mosques and some individuals so that they can share happiness together.
District Kadhi told journalists that domestic animals are often slaughtered on Eid al Adha day that happens annually, he has asked his fellow Muslims to always share the little they have with others and to always save some money as they prepare for this day but not to often wait for donations from well-wishers.
Sheik Kabu Lule explained that Muslims around the world slaughter an animal such as a goat, sheep, cow or camel to reflect the Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son Ismail, for the sake of God. At least one third of the meat from the animal must go to poor or vulnerable people.
