RUKUNGIRI: On Friday, July 19, 2024, Kinyasano Deanery was declared the champion of the North Kigezi Diocese Mother’s Union Music, Dance, and Drama Competitions in Rukungiri District.

The competitions were organized under the theme, “Do not Conform to the Patterns of this World,” from Romans 12:2. The event featured various categories, including set piece, poem, traditional folk song, and mini drama.

Held at the Convention Site of Emmanuel Cathedral Kinyasano in Rukungiri District, the event saw participation from seven groups: Kinyasano Deanery, Rujumbura, Kyamakanda, Kashenyi, Kakinga, Nyakisoroza, and Rubirizi Archdeaconries.

Kinyasano Deanery emerged as the winner, followed by Rujumbura in second place.

The other groups ranked as follows: Kyamakanda, Rubirizi, Kakinga, Kashenyi, and Nyakisoroza.

In her remarks, Mother’s Union President Mrs. Joan Kyanshemeza Mutungi thanked all the participants for their dedication and the time invested in delivering the message.

She encouraged everyone to take the gospel home.

Rev. Andrew Kananura, representing the Diocesan Secretary, expressed gratitude to the leadership of the Mother’s Union, supported by Maama Florence and Bishop Onesimus Asiimwe, for revitalizing the Music, Dance, and Drama Competitions, noting their historical significance in the church.
