UPDF Brig Gen Sande Encourages Poverty Alleviation through Church Donation in Rakai

RAKAI – The Commander of the UPDF Armoured Brigade, Brigadier General Deus Sande on Sunday urged Christians of St. John Mary Vianney Catholic Church in Rakai District to embrace government programs like the Parish Development Model (PDM) and Emyooga, aimed at alleviating poverty.


As a demonstration of his support, Brig Gen Sande fulfilled his pledge to the church by donating one million shillings (cash) and one hundred eighty-five iron sheets for the completion and roofing of the St. John Mary Vianney Catholic Parish Church in Mutukula, Rakai District.


Fr. Alex Musoke, the Priest of the Church, expressed gratitude to UPDF and Armoured Brigade for their timely assistance towards the church’s completion.


He praised UPDF for its unique role in delivering its Constitutional mandate while also giving back to the community.
