The duo emerged as champions in the 42km men’s and women’s categories, each taking home a prize of UGX 10 million.
They received their gold medals from Hon. Peter Ogwang, the Minister of State for Sports, who called on Ugandans to embrace sports.
He also challenged the people of the Rwenzori region, noting that no one from the area has yet won a medal in the Tusker Lite Mt. Rwenzori Marathon.
