NTUNGAMO: Fire has ravaged PK fuel station at Ikona trading centre in Kagongi parish, Rugarama sub-county, Rubaare, Ntungamo, causing significant losses after being ignited by a vehicle during the refilling process.
Eyewitness Darius Mugyenyi recounted the incident, which occurred yesterday around 7:00 pm while they watched a football match between Liverpool and Man City in a nearby hall. A good Samaritan’s alert prompted them to flee amidst a serious stampede, fortunately without serious injuries.

Annet Ninsiima, a restaurant owner in Ikona trading centre, disclosed that following the station’s fire, the driver moved the burning vehicle to Omukoona trading centre in Kasaana West 2 along Rubaare – Kisiizi road, where it was reduced to ashes. Ninsiima added that the fire also damaged a motorcycle in the same trading centre.
