The territorial police in Rubanda District are actively investigating circumstances sorrounding the death of two family heads.
According to the Kigezi Region police spokesperson ASP Elly Maate on Wednesday morning 21/12/2022at about 07:00am the deceased identified as Mujuni Werreni 45 years was found murdered by unknown assailants on the way to his home of residency by his neighbour who made an alarm that attracted other residents including the deceased’s wife identified Christine Kenema all residents of Katojo village, Kashasha parish, Ikumba sub county in Rubanda district
Maate revealed that as the residents became many, and knowing how the couple have always been having domestic problems, they suspected his wife Kenema to have master minded his death, hence lynched her to death.
ASP Maate said that Information reached the police, scene was visited immediately post-mortem was done at the scene and the two bodies were allowed to be buried while Inquiries continue
The case of double murder was registered at Rubanda Central Police station under reference number CRB 475/2022
