“In line with this year’s theme, Parliament will not be shaken by critics. The Bible urges us to hold firm to the truth and goodness. We will continue to pursue justice and transparent leadership by upholding good governance, human rights, and the rule of law. This event is a significant tradition that realigns our moral compass with the wishes of God, providing an opportunity to place our burdens at the feet of our Lord. A nation that knows no God finds no success,” Among stated.

She continued, “We live in a time when the foundations that form the moral fabric of our values, identity, and society are under unprecedented attack. The laws of God are being questioned, and those with perceived power are waging a war against family, marriage, and societal values. This conflict is framed as a struggle between civilization and backwardness, the old and the new, personal freedoms versus societal control, all designed to twist the truth and disarm the righteous.”

Among referenced President Abraham Lincoln, who was clear about his commitment to God during moments of great crisis. She quoted Lincoln: “Sir, my concern is not whether God is on our side; my greatest concern is to be on God’s side, for God is always right.” This serves as a call to action for the righteous to uphold God’s foundation.

“This year’s theme, ‘If the Foundations are Destroyed, What Will the Righteous Do?’ drawn from Psalms 11:3, resonates deeply with our call to leaders and citizens to be practical, resolute, and unyielding against social injustices, corruption, foreign influence, and moral decay,” concluded Speaker Among.
