RUBANDA: The State Minister for Finance and General Duties, Henry Musasizi has honored his commitment to support the construction of Muko Archdeaconry in Muko Sub County in Rubanda West County, Rubanda District.
On Friday, December 27th, Minister Musasizi fulfilled his pledge by donating 313 galvanized iron sheets to the church, which is currently under construction.
The donation was made during a colorful thanksgiving ceremony that also marked the 60th birthday celebration of Venerable Ernest Nkwasibwe, the Archdeacon of Muko Archdeaconry.
Minister Musasizi, who also serves as the Member of Parliament for Rubanda East, was represented at the event by Rubanda District LC5 Chairperson, Stephen Ampeire Kasyaba.
Speaking as the guest of honor, Kasyaba hailed Minister Musasizi for his generosity and unwavering support for community development.
The 313 iron sheets, he noted, represent half of the 600 sheets required to complete the roofing of the archdeaconry.
“Minister Musasizi has shown great commitment to supporting the church and fostering development in our district. His contribution is a testament to the strong partnership we share,” Kasyaba said, adding that the minister had pledged continued support to the church and other community projects.
Kasyaba also used the occasion to advocate for unity among the people of Rubanda District.
He cautioned against political divisions based on geography, tribe, or religion, urging residents of Rubanda East and West to remain united.
“Why should people who share the same culture and language become divided during election time?” he asked. “Let us reject leaders who thrive on divisionism and instead focus on building a community that is united and progressive.”
Kasyaba further warned against the “politics of identity,” emphasizing that true leaders serve all people regardless of their background.
He encouraged Christians to rally behind leaders who prioritize development and harmony over divisive agendas.
Venerable Ernest Nkwasibwe expressed gratitude to Minister Musasizi for fulfilling his promise and to Chairman Kasyaba for ensuring balanced development across Rubanda East and West constituencies.
“The iron sheets are a timely blessing for the construction of our archdeaconry. We are grateful for the minister’s generosity and for Chairman Kasyaba’s commitment to uplifting both sides of the district,” Venerable Nkwasibwe said.
Friday Rwamahe, a synod member in the Diocese of Kigezi, urged Christians to appreciate and support leaders who deliver results.
“We have seen significant achievements in Rubanda District thanks to the collaboration between Minister Musasizi and the district leadership. Let us reward such dedication when the opportunity arises,” he said
The ceremony was a celebration of not just a fulfilled promise but also a vision of unity and progress for Rubanda District. With the construction of Muko Archdeaconry steadily advancing, the community stands as a testament to what can be achieved when leaders and residents work together.
As Rubanda continues to develop, Minister Musasizi’s contribution serves as a reminder of the power of selfless leadership and the importance of prioritizing community needs over political differences.
