KABALE- The Secretariat of the Parish Development Model has suspended the launch of the Parish Development Model funds in Kabale District due to identified gaps in preparedness.

Hon. Jovurine Kyomukama Kaliisa, the Deputy National Coordinator for the Parish Development Model, revealed that the secretariat had initially planned to launch the funds on Monday of the following week. However, they decided to suspend the launch after realizing that there were significant gaps in public awareness and sensitization.

Kyomukama discovered these gaps during a meeting with stakeholders, parish chiefs, and town agents held at Rukiiko Hall in Kabale Municipality.

She firmly stated that the Parish Development Model program would not be launched until the secretariat could ensure that the public had received proper training and that beneficiaries would effectively utilize the funds after being trained.

According to Ronald Bakak, the Deputy Resident Commissioner of Kabale, there are 69 Parish Development Model Saccos in the district, each holding 107 million shillings in their accounts.

This development puts the launch of the Parish Development Model funds on hold indefinitely in Kabale, as the secretariat emphasizes the need for adequate training and readiness among the public before proceeding.
