The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Elections Officer in Kisoro District, Tadeo Majambere, has raised concerns over premature campaign activities by several aspirants vying for positions in the upcoming party elections.

Majambere noted that a number of candidates have already begun displaying campaign posters and banners without official approval, a clear violation of party regulations. He emphasized that these unauthorized activities have prompted warnings from party officials regarding the need for strict adherence to electoral procedures.

A recent feasibility study conducted in Kisoro Municipality identified several individuals reportedly engaging in early campaigning. These include Emmanuel Maniraguha, Byibesho Sam, and Dr. Leo Mfitimana, all of whom are seeking the NRM flag for Member of Parliament, Kisoro Municipality. For the position of LCV Chairperson, Kisoro District, the candidates named are Ndyana Richard and Milton Mutabazi. In the race for Mayor of Kisoro Municipality, Ndikuyeze Ramanthan and Michael Bazamanza have also been cited.

Majambere expressed disappointment that some candidates have gone beyond posters and have begun addressing public gatherings actions he described as blatant breaches of NRM procedures. He reiterated that campaigning is only allowed after official nominations and approval by the party’s electoral commission.

“Such early politicking invites scrutiny and undermines the fairness of the electoral process,” said Majambere. He called on all candidates to respect the party’s guidelines to ensure a transparent and orderly election.
