Henry Musasizi, the Minister of Finance (General Duties), has been re-elected as the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Chairman for Rubanda District following a landslide victory.

The results were officially announced by the Rubanda District NRM Registrar, Monday Aggrey, who confirmed that Minister Musasizi secured 503 votes.

Musasizi defeated Diaz Drake Owoyesigyire, the LC5 Councilor for Hamuhambo Town Council in Rubanda East County who secured 43 votes.

A third contender, city lawyer Jackson Tumweboneire, exited the race prematurely after failing to secure a single vote.

Registrar Aggrey clarified that Tumweboneire was not an official delegate and thus received no votes.

“It has been a journey of success and achievements, and I do not take it for granted,” Musasizi said. “After you elected me as the District NRM Chairman, the people of Rubanda East also returned me to Parliament for a third term, and President Museveni elevated me to Cabinet. Thank you so much.”

He emphasized that the role of NRM District Chairman is not a paid position but one of passion and dedication.

“Being an NRM District Leader is not a paying job,” he said. “It is about passion and commitment to sacrifice for the party. Anyone who thinks this is a well-paying position will not manage. Let us all commit to building and strengthening NRM support in Rubanda for the betterment of our home district.”
