Minister of Finance (General Duties) Henry Musasizi, has urged newly elected National Resistance Movement (NRM) leaders in Rubanda District to promote unity and cohesion within the party.
While addressing NRM LC3 Chairpersons and Town Council Mayors at Volcano Hotel in Rubanda Town Council on Friday, Minister Musasizi, who also serves as the Rubanda East County Member of Parliament and the District NRM Chairperson, called on leaders to set aside personal differences and work together for the greater good of the party and the country.
“A united NRM is crucial for our party’s success and Uganda’s development,” Minister Musasizi emphasized. “When we work together, we can overcome challenges and achieve great things.”
He tasked the leaders with mobilizing grassroots support, engaging meaningfully with voters, and advancing the party’s vision through action.
He also encouraged them to build strong relationships with their constituents by listening to their concerns and addressing their needs.
“By working together, we can deliver meaningful development to the people of Uganda. We exist for the good of the people we serve,” Minster Musasizi stated.
His message was well-received by the NRM Leaders, who unanimously pledged to uphold unity and work collectively to achieve the NRM’s objectives.
“We are committed to building a strong and united NRM that can effectively serve the people of Uganda,” the leaders resolved.
Minister Musasizi also reminded the newly elected NRM leaders of their responsibility to monitor the implementation and progress of the Parish Development Model (PDM) in their respective areas.
He noted that the PDM is a flagship initiative championed by President Yoweri Museveni and the NRM government to drive socio-economic transformation at the household level.
“Go out there and assess how our people are using the loans we have given them, and report where necessary,” Minister Musasizi directed. “Government has invested Shs100 million in each parish, and it is essential that we follow up on this investment.”
Meanwhile, Rubanda District LC5 Chairperson, Stephen Ampeire Kasyaba, also addressed the gathering, calling on NRM leaders to uphold the values of collective responsibility and integrity.
“As leaders, we must prioritize the party’s interests and work collectively to achieve our goals,” Kasyaba said. “Let us honor our commitments and uphold the values that define the NRM.”
