Bukimbiri County parliamentary aspirants Eddie Kwizera Wa Gahungu and Turyagyenda Asgario have launched their first joint campaign rally ahead of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) primaries, held in Nyabwishenya Sub-county.
The rally, which drew large crowds on Monday, marked a rare moment of political unity as both candidates vowed to champion key development priorities, including education sponsorship, road construction, electricity installation, and the full implementation of the NRM manifesto.
In a striking show of cooperation, incumbent MP Eddie Kwizera pledged to support his longtime rival and four-time aspirant Turyagyenda Asgario in future political ventures, once he completes his current term. He said Asgario would gain valuable experience during this campaign period and learn from him what it takes to lead effectively.
Kwizera, who received applause for his track record in road rehabilitation and rural electrification across Bukimbiri’s remote areas, reaffirmed his commitment to completing ongoing projects. He urged voters to choose wisely and maintain peace throughout the campaign period.
