The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, Most Rev. Dr. Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu, has arrived in Kabale District to grace the ongoing East African Revival Convention.

The annual gathering, hosted by the Diocese of Kigezi at the Diocesan Convention site on Rugarama Hill, has drawn thousands of Christians from across East Africa and beyond for worship, reflection, and spiritual renewal.

This year’s convention, which opened on Wednesday and will close on Sunday, is being held under the theme drawn from Hebrews 12:2: “Let us fix our eyes on Jesus.”

Archbishop Kaziimba was received on Thursday evening at White Horse Inn Hotel in Kabale Municipality by the Diocese of Kigezi Secretary, Ven. Milton Nkurunungi, and the Archdeacon of All Saints Church Kabale Archdeaconry, Ven. Emmanuel Bwagye Namanya.

“As we celebrate 90 years since the spark of revival in Gahini (1935) was fanned here into a great movement of repentance and reconciliation, we honour heroes whose courage shaped Uganda and beyond,” he stated.

Archbishop Kaziimba expressed hope that this year’s convention would usher in a renewed wave of faith.

“May this Convention be a fresh outpouring of God’s Spirit, stirring us to unity, renewal and faithful witness,” he said.
