The Director of the Chief Political Commissariat, AIGP Ubaldo Bamunoba, has directed police commanders in the Kigezi sub-region to intensify both foot and motorized patrols in order to reinforce security along the border and foster stronger collaboration with sister security agencies and stakeholders.
Speaking to officers at Kabale District headquarters during a sensitization and ideological orientation program on Thursday, Bamunoba underscored the importance of intelligence-led operations, supported by a strong command structure, in ensuring effective crime prevention and management.

He further highlighted the role of force multipliers in investigations, urging closer coordination with the judiciary through case conferencing to guarantee professional handling of cases, successful convictions, and the restoration of public trust in the justice system.
Bamunoba also reminded officers of the need to maintain a positive mindset and uphold the values of humanity and professionalism in serving all Ugandans.

While commending the officers for their dedication to maintaining law and order, he stressed that community sensitization remains key.
He urged full utilization of the Child and Family Protection Unit and the Community Liaison Department to help de-escalate conflicts and strengthen police–community relations.
