Uganda’s Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has announced the arrest of Mujurizi Moses, whom he has accused of being a serial killer and cannibal allegedly linked to the deaths of 38 people in Masaka, Ibanda and Kazo districts between 2010 and 2025.

According to the announcement, the suspect is believed to be connected to multiple killings reported across the three districts over the 15-year period.

The arrest has also drawn attention to reports about a long-wanted suspect identified as Fred Mujulizi, also known by the aliases Kulaish and Kurish Kamugisha, who has been linked to deadly attacks on families in the greater Masaka region dating back to 2012.

Further arrests reported in 2026 have reportedly linked the suspect to additional murders, with investigators examining possible ritual-related motives.
