KISORO – Police in Kisoro District are on a manhunt for a 27-year-old individual, identified as Tumwizere Gilbert, who is accused of fatally injuring his 15-year-old brother, Mbishinzimana Dickson.
The tragic incident allegedly occurred because the young brother refused to attend school. Tumwizere Gilbert is a resident of Busera village, Rwaramba parish, Nyakinama Sub County.
According to Kisoro RDC Hajji Shafiq Ssekandi, Tumwizere Gilbert used a solid wire to repeatedly strike his younger brother, leading to severe injuries. After the young brother lost consciousness, the suspect fled the scene on Wednesday at around 7:30 pm, leaving him in the compound.
The parents discovered the unconscious boy and promptly brought him inside the house to administer first aid. However, despite their efforts, he tragically succumbed to his injuries during the process.
Hajji Shafiq Ssekandi urged the public not to take the law into their own hands and assured them that the police are actively pursuing Tumwizere Gilbert to face the consequences of his actions.
