KABALE – A total of 19 people were on Saturday baptized into the Christian faith at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Kabale District.

The baptism ceremony took place at the Green Hills Hotel Swimming Pool in Kabale Municipality, and Pastor Livingston Tumwesigye, who oversees all SDA churches in Kabale, Rukiga, Rubanda, and parts of Ntungamo District, presided over the event.

Before the baptism, the candidates participated in a session of questions and answers, where they declared their allegiance to the church and affirmed their belief in various Bible doctrines. They unanimously expressed their belief in the Trinity (Three God Head), Baptism by Immersion, and the second coming of Jesus Christ, among other teachings.

During his sermon at the baptism site, Pastor Tumwesigye emphasized the significance of baptism, drawing from the biblical account in Matthew 3:13, where Jesus Christ sought to be baptized by John the Baptist, highlighting the importance of the sacrament.

Furthermore, Pastor Tumwesigye explained that true baptism involves immersion in water and is a personal choice. He referred to the gospel according to John 3:23, which mentions that John was baptizing people in a location with ample water to signify the significance of immersion in the sacrament.

After the baptism, all the newly baptized individuals received certificates of baptism and were warmly welcomed as official members of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Kabale.
