KISORO – Police in Kisoro District have arrested three individuals for impeding municipal law enforcers in the demolition of illegal structures along the Kabale-Kisoro-Bunagana Road.
The trios whose particulars remain unknown were on Wednesday whisked to the Gatimba police post cell by officers accompanying Kisoro municipal law enforcers, led by Municipal Town Clerk Kisubi Ayub.
Ayub stated that the demolition aimed to clear all unauthorized structures established by business owners along the street in preparation for the anticipated visit of the managers of the Urban Authority’s Association of Uganda (UAAU) to Kisoro on Friday, December 8, 2023, for the Annual General Meeting.

However, affected business owners expressed dissatisfaction with the sudden demolition of their properties, citing a lack of prior notification to allow them to make necessary preparations.
