Amidst the backdrop of a call for a nationwide closure of shops by City traders, spearheaded by Kampala City Traders Association (Kacita) on April 16th, Kisoro’s business community has chosen to remain operational.
Their decision stems from discontent over the implementation of the Electronic Fiscal Receipting and Invoicing Solution (EFRIS) by Uganda Revenue Authority (URA). Despite the nationwide call for action, shops in Kisoro municipality have continued to conduct business.
George Habumuremyi, Chairman of the Kisoro Traders Association, voices concern over the efficacy of the EFRIS system in Kisoro. He urges the government to promptly address the grievances of traders to foster economic stability.
