The victim, George Mpabuka, resided in Mashoko cell, Rushaka Parish, Nyamirama Sub County, Kanungu district.
According to a Police statement released on Thursday night, Mpabuka was strangled and assaulted, his body discovered in the children’s bedroom of their home, amidst a pool of blood and signs of violence.
Elly Maate, the Kigezi Region Police spokesperson, confirmed the incident, stating that the police were alerted, the crime scene investigated and documented, leading to the arrest of the wife for further inquiry after failing to provide a comprehensive account of the events leading to her husband’s demise.
Maate mentioned that a postmortem was conducted, and efforts to apprehend Twinamatsiko Yosia, the son of the deceased who fled, are ongoing.
