20-year-old mentally ill man commits suicide in Kisoro

KISORO- Police in Kisoro district are investigating circumstances under which a 20 years old mental man hanged himself with rope inside his unfinished house in Kisoro.

ASP Elly Maate the Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson identified the deceased as Habomuremye Teojen a Mufumbira by tribe a resident of Rukoffe village Chibumba parish, Mulora sub county, Kisoro district.

According to Maate, the case has been reported at Kisoro police station by the Chairperson Local Council 111 for Mulora sub county.

According to the reporter, the deceased disappeared from home on 19/2/2023 and has been mentally sick.

In the morning of 20/02/2023 local residents traced for him and found him dead, hanging on a rope inside his unfinished house.

Maate asserted that the scene of crime was visited and examined, Postmortem done and body handed over to the relatives for burial while inquiries still at hand

A case of suicide by hanging has been registered at Kisoro Central Police station under reference CRB 130/2023.
