KANUNGU: Police in Kanungu District have apprehended three individuals for interrogation regarding the homicide of a 24-year-old woman in Nyamirama Sub County.
The victim, identified as Rosete Asiimwe, hailed from Mashoko cell, Rushaka parish, Nyamirama sub county in Kanungu district.
The apprehended individuals are Ssengiyunva Budidii (25), a herdsman, Kundizana Vian (27), a peasant, and Tukaweza Kabata (30), all residents of Mashoko cell, Rushaka parish in Nyamirama sub county.
According to a police statement issued yesterday at 09:00 AM, the deceased departed from Bakuzi Peace bar accompanied by the aforementioned suspects. Regrettably, she was discovered deceased in the kitchen of Bakuzi this morning.
Elly Maate, the Kigezi Region Police spokesperson, reports that Police received notification from Emmanuel Mbangukira, the LC 2 chairman of Rushaka parish.
Maate said that the scene was investigated, the three suspects were detained, and the body was transported to Kihihi Health Center 4 for postmortem examination.
He added that efforts to get the owner of the bar arrested are being made since was at large.
